What did you do after graduation?
Three days after high
school graduation, I attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in
Tallahassee, Florida where I studied Agricultural Science and received a
Bachelor’s Degree in Science with a Concentration in Agricultural Science/Entomology
Biological Pest Management with a minor in Education. (GO RATTLERS!!! WE STRIKE, STRIKE & STRIKE AGAIN!).
After receiving my degree from FAMU, I worked as
a Property Manager of an Apartment Complex in Tallahassee, Fl for a year. While
working, I volunteered at many shelters, hospitals,
hospice centers, and mentor young children. In addition I expanded my interest
in cosmetology; in which I enjoy rejuvenating and beautifying individuals on my
free time. At this time in my life I was taking a rest from intrigued science
courses and giving back to humanity!!!
Then a year later, I
decided to go back to school to Master in Science with a concentration in
Health Science Management from Argosy University in Tampa, FL. I moved back to
Miami for about six months and commuted to Tampa, Fl and variety of
states/cities for field studies that contributed to my thesis for my Masters
degree. I graduated November 2012!
Now I currently work at the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services
as an Entomologist that
regulates pesticide products that are sold throughout the state of Florida. I
have been working for the state of Florida for about 3 year. Working for the
state of Florida is rewarding in many ways in this season in my life… My quote:
“Never get complacent, always strive high” My thoughts “With all I do in this
life, I give God all the glory”
